Leo Messi’s Bombshell Revelation: Why He Hates Louis Van Gaal?

Qué mirás, bobo? Qué mirás bobo? ... Andá para allá

Every football fan who watched the entire World Cup would agree that the game between Van Gaal's Dutch team and La Albiceleste i.e. Argentina headed by Leo Messi, was the most competitive one. Messi was forced to perform this celebration in front of the full Netherlands team because the heat had increased so much. But Louis Van Gaal was the sole focus of this celebration, which was held in his honor.

Messi - Riquelme Celebration

The circumstances that led to this are primarily discussed in this article. Actually, the majority of today's culés are unaware of the significance of Messi's famous celebration. Let's get straight to the information and claims that led up to this celebration, the well-known Riquelme Celebration.

It all started when Juan Riquelme joined FC Barcelona. Juan Riquelme, also known as "El Toreno", played extremely elegant football for Boca Juniors. He was essential to their achievements. In addition to being a Powerhouse for developing young talent, FC Barcelona is also always eager to welcome young players from around the globe to Camp Nou. El Toreno was brought in by FC Barcelona in 2002 and introduced as a future Argentine Maestro to play for the Azulgrana. The Azulgrana's paid a whooping 11 Million Euros which at that time was pretty high.

However, the ideal signing quickly veered off course for failure. That year, FC Barcelona hired Louis Van Gaal as their head coach. The system that Louis Van Gaal intended FC Barcelona to use "was non-negotiable", Juan Riquelme was informed. These were the expressive remarks uttered by the renowned Dutchman. Despite this, Riquelme went on and scored the game-winning goal with Kluivert's help in one of the matches against Racing de Santander. Riquelme was pulled to the bench just as he was going to score another goal since he was in a good position to do so.

This tactics wasn't just with Riquelme, even Rivaldo was kicked out of the club as Louis Van Gaal didn't want him in the first team. Things got worse when Louis Van Gaal went public and claimed that Riquelme was the club signing he never asked for! Crazy right...

With this, the minutes Riquelme got in Van Gaal's system was very few. This worsened when Barcelona was just 3 points away from the relegation zone sitting at 15th Position. All these factors led Riquelme to leave the club and he was replaced by the beloved Ronaldinho.

Let me also give you some statistics of how well Riquelme could have suited for FC Barcelona's football ideologies. In his career before FC Barcelona, for 226 matches, he scored around 54 goals and 62 assists which makes the goals + assist ratio per match as 0.58 which is outright amazing given that FC Barcelona play a very typical possession based games. In FC Barcelona's system, he could have had a pivotal role in the attacking midfield position.

Despite all of his promise, Villareal received a loan of him. His real potential was seen by this loan transfer. Villareal's system helped him turn into an absolute beast.

If you've read this far, you're probably wondering how Lionel Messi will be impacted by the current situation.? I'll explain everything to you as well. Juan Riquelme has long been a hero to Lionel Messi. I find it amazing that Juan Riquelme and Lionel Messi were both born on the same day i.e. 24th of June, but different years obviously. Not only that, but Messi took inherited Ronaldinho's renowned 10 number and regards it as one of the nicest things in the entire world. Messi selecting the 10 is pure gold.

Messi - Riquelme Connection

To remind Louis Van Gaal of what he had done to Riquelme, Messi continued and performed the celebration in front of him. This increased the match's craziness. Argentina ultimately prevailed on penalties, and Dibu Martinez deserves all the credit.

This describes the ideal World Cup celebration. I myself questioned Messi's antics during the match. Was it required? Please share your opinions in the space provided below. I'd love to know what all culés think about this.

This article paves the way for another article which is about the Dutch in Football. Won't give another spoiler 😁😁.

Till then,

Visca El Barca!
