Does FC Barcelona Spend it ALL?
These couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for any Barca fan. From not making unnecessary moves for a player, our board is really trying to go through this transfer window with a clear motive. The motive is strengthening our squad. This means Xavi’s plans are really working, with players working harder than before, management trying to keep players fit, and medical staff, doing their best to make injured players come back stronger. Apart from this, the board is trying to reinforce as many options Xavi needs for the execution of his plans.
Before Transfer News:
The transfer window has just started but the board was working really hard day and night so that we can somehow try to overcome the burden the last board of management had left. Shoutout to ex-President Josep Maria Barthomeau Floreta for putting this historic, powerful club in debt. But I am really happy to tell everyone that the club has managed to gain a significant amount of transfer funds from agreeing to sell the TV Rights for 400 Million Euros by July 15th which is before the USA Tour.
FC Barcelona ended the 20/21 financial year with 481 Million Euros in debt. Now, with activating those financial levers (read about this in my earlier blog), we are successfully able to register with 267 Million Euros. This means that we might have around 200 Million Euros to use this transfer window. This has clearly reflected in Barcelona evading the La Liga's 3:1 rule (one of the worst rules of the league) and can now sign and register signings. Some of them can be marquee signings too. This takes us to advances of talks of many players. Here's the update on it.
Transfer Talks and News:
FC Barcelona is trying to get the first marquee signing of Xavi's new season. It is none other than FC Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski. Yes, we are ecstatic to hear that FC Bayern Munich and our club have started talking about Robert's transfer. Robert Lewandowski inevitably wants a transfer to FC Barcelona. Xavi has spoken with the player and his entourage and our club had made an official bid of 32 Million Euros plus 5 Million Euros as variables. But Bayern refused it totally by not even responding to the bid. FC Barcelona has then increased the bid and made their second official bid by bidding 35 Million Euros plus 5 Million Euros as variables. But FC Bayern has responded by refusing to accept that bid. But the positive part of this bid is that at least FC Bayern is responding to the bids from FC Barcelona. FC Bayern is reported wanting around 50 Million Euros at least for Robert Lewandowski. Will FC Barcelona make it? Let's see but I would personally love Robert Lewandowski as he is a true poacher and this is what we need, we need to be clinical in front of the goal.
We also know that FC Barcelona had given Ousmane Dembele an offer as well as an ultimatum. The ultimatum ordered Dembele to decide whether to take the deal or not within 48 hours. According to reports from Gerard Romero, Ousmane Dembele thinks that the offer is not lucrative and decides still to postpone the decision. In my opinion, this is really unacceptable. This puts Barcelona in a position where Barca needs to decide whether should we go the harsh way or increase and make it a lucrative offer for Dembele. This decision should be taken keeping in mind that Ousmane Dembele in Xavi's plans has been an absolute beast.
Now, if we go down the harsh way, FC Barcelona will make the offer null & void and Dembele might be shown the door for exit. Either way, Raphinha has been a great target for FC Barcelona to achieve.
Barcelona has made an official bid to
Leeds FC, a bid of 60 Million Euros. The best part about this deal is that
Barcelona will pay 60 Million in 3 installments. Yes, you read it right. This keeps FC Barcelona in a stronghold. We already have received the desire of Raphinha to join Barcelona. Also, his entourage Deco is an FC Barcelona Legend. He truly believes that
"Once a Cutler, Always a Cutler".
Our president Joan Laporta's friendship with Deco and the club's history was more than enough for Raphinha to agree to come to the club. It is also reported that Raphinha wants to follow the footsteps of his Idol, Gaucho Ronaldinho who himself is a legend of FC Barcelona.
What's happening with Frenkie De Jong and Jules Kounde?
Frenkie De Jong's transfer situation hasn't really improved. Manchester United and Erik Ten Hagg are still convinced that they can sign Frenkie De Jong. They have made a bid of 75 Million Euros plus 5 Million or 10 Million Euros as variables.
I just want to say that letting Frenkie go will be one of the biggest mistakes this board will make (if they make errors). He can be very pivotal in midfield and the player himself desires FC Barcelona more than anyone else.
Speaking of Jules Kounde, we are pleased to hear that Chelsea FC has stopped being a barrier in front of FC Barcelona to sign Kounde from Sevilla. Sevilla FC reportedly wants to sell Jules Kounde if the player wants to go away from the club. Kounde has entered his second last year of the contract and it is now or never for Sevilla to make a contract negotiation meeting with him or put him on a transfer market with minimum dreams of making much money out of him.
Barcelona needs to come to a conclusion on whether Frenkie De Jong needs to go to Manchester United or he stays and becomes a legendary midfielder.
All this news leads to a bright and really confident transfer window. The transfers will make this team, a team that can compete and truly shouts to the world that FC Barcelona is BACK!
Till then,
Visca El Barca!
